Alkalinity Dosing Calculator
The main purpose of this calculator is to provide a single dose amount to correct a dropped alkalinity level. Once corrected, reference the manufacturer instructions for calculating your daily dosing amount.
Your adjustment dose will be different from your tank’s necessary daily dose.
If making a big adjustment (more than 1 dKH) divide the dose up and add to the tank over the course of a few days to avoid dramatic changes in water chemistry.
Dose liquid solutions slowly into high water flow and avoid direct contact with pumps, heaters and other equipment to prevent precipitation. Avoid allowing contact with corals as well.
Do not dose calcium and alkalinity back to back.Give 20-30 minutes in between doses. To maintain alkalinity levels it is best to dose small amounts daily.
Calcium Dosing Calculator
The main purpose of this calculator is to correct a dropped calcium level. Once corrected, reference the manufacturer instructions for calculating your daily dosing amount.
Your adjustment dose will be different from your tank’s daily dose.
If making a big adjustment (more than 50 PPM) divide the dose over the course of 1-2 days to avoid dramatic changes.
Dose liquid solutions slowly, into high flow and avoid direct contact with pumps, heaters and other equipment to prevent precipitation. Never dose calcium and alkalinity supplements back to back, give the tank 20-30 minutes between doses.
To maintain calcium levels, dose small amounts each day.
Magnesium Dosing Calculator
The main purpose of this calculator is to provide a single adjustment dose to correct a dropped magnesium. Reference the manufacturer instructions for calculating your daily dosing amount.
Your adjustment dose will be different from your tank’s required daily dose.
If making a big adjustment (more than 100 PPM) divide the dose over the course of 1-2 days to avoid dramatic changes in water chemistry.
Dose liquid solutions slowly, into an area of high flow.
Dose small amounts each day or at minimum once per week.
System Volume Calculator
This calculator is an approximation and in no way should be taken as exact. There are many variables to consider that could affect the total.
