The huge multi-level LCD of the HI98108 portable pH tester shows the temperature and pH values at the same time. The pH values are shown with an accuracy of ±0.10 pH and a precision of 0.01 pH. The HI98108 has a pH range of 0.00 to 14.00. Quick automatic pH measurements that adjust for temperature are possible thanks to an exposed temperature sensor. The temperature can be shown in either °C or °F. Indicators for calibration and stability are present on the LCD screen. When the device first starts up, the battery percentage level informs the user of how much battery power is still available.
The pH electrode makes use of an extractable cloth junction, a novel reference cell design. Usually, a congested connection will show unstable, non-stable readings. Any blockage can be removed from the meter by simply removing a little piece of cloth, revealing a clean, new surface. The pH electrode's lifespan can be increased by being able to remove any obstructions.
Pressing the designated calibration button initiates the calibration process. The pH electrode can be calibrated to one or two points using the pre-programmed standard buffers (pH 4.01, 7.01, 10.01) once it is in calibration mode. The meter automatically accepts and stores the calibration value when it detects the standard value and reaches stability.
